What should your product description answer?

Try reading your product page as if you’re seeing it for the first time. Do you only understand what it is, or also whether it’s right for you?

Start with the use

Explain who the product is designed for and which uses its information supports. Avoid generic phrases like “suits everyone” if they aren’t accurate.

Explain the difference between options

If you offer sizes, capacities, or versions, explain the difference that matters to the shopper. Don’t just list names or numbers without interpretation.

Connect the spec to its benefit

Stating a capacity is different from explaining what it holds. Naming a material is different from explaining its real benefit, as long as the explanation is backed by product information.

State the limitations

Compatibility, sizes, and usage requirements aren’t minor details when the choice depends on them. Explaining what the product doesn’t do can matter as much as explaining what it does.

Review the questions you receive

If a question repeats, check whether the answer is missing, hard to find, or written unclearly. Don’t assume a longer description is the fix; sometimes one sentence in the right place is enough.

Start with one product, and identify three questions its description needs to answer more clearly.
